Trans Balkani Ltd. provides cargo freight forwarding by ferry lines from/to the CIS countries and other countries as well.

Rail ferries provide ferry transport of wagons both with standard gauge of 1435 mm and with Russian gauge of 1520 mm used by Russia and the CIS countries.

Rail ferry complex consists of ships with placed on the deck railway tracks and of special port devices. The wagons are loaded on the ships through a special bridge connected directly with the ferry.

The advantages of using railway ferries are:

-shortening delivery times;

-reducing the cost of transportation;

-reducing the risk of cargo damage during transshipment

What is transshipment?

During cargo transportation from Russia, Bulgaria, Turkey and other countries in Europe and the Middle East may arise a need of transshipment from one means of transport to another. There is such need in the sea and river ports, and on the border stations for transshipments from a wagon with one gauge to two or more wagons with different gauge of the track.

Trans Balkani Ltd. deals with the organization of cargo transshipment in ports and border stations. One of our main tasks is to achieve during transshipment a precise coordination between all its participants.

The direct option of cargo transshipment without using a storage, i.e. transshipment of different kind of loads, is carried out under the scheme “wagon/wagon”, “wagon/truck”, “wagon/ship/container”, “container/ship/wagon”, “container/ship/truck”, “container/ship/wagon/truck”.

Ferry cargo transport is made upon a request. Based on submitted requests and on paid invoices for freight services, a monthly plan is prepared in order to specify the quantity of wagons for the ferry. Timely ordering prevents complications during transportation.

Besides transshipment, Trans Balkani Ltd. provides the following support services in ports, namely:

- securing oversized cargo in the wagons

- making orders for wagons for loading in the ports

- preparation of drawings, schemes of loading and securing of cargo and their approval by the railway authorities.

- Port forwarding, reception and storage

- cargo delivery with different types of transport to the port of discharge;

- providing wagon/container/truck transport at the port of discharge.
